Men's draw

Jasper van der Zwan still leads, but his margin is cut from 2 points to 1!

Jasper lost 3 points today as he was wrong about both Davydenko (handled by Haas) and Nadal (grounded by Gonzalez).

In tomorrow's last two quarterfinals, both Jasper and Manuel picked Davydenko and Nadal to reach the semis, so they both have points to lose there. Eric Goll, currently three points back, would benefit from a Nadal loss to Gonzalez.

Aaron Seong moves into contention by losing nothing -- all his picks in the bottom had already been eliminated in earlier rounds. He is joined just behind Jasper by Eric Goll, who lost only one point (Davydenko).

So is it time to find out who has a chance to coiff Jasper at the wire? You got it!

Men's draw championship scenarios

The interesting thing here is that leader Jasper is one of the few who did not pick Federer to go all the way. He has Roddick. So... if Roddick takes out Federer in the semis, the championship is Jasper's. If not, Aaron S and Eric G share the title.

  • If Roddick reaches the final, regardless of his opponent:
    Jasper vdZ wins outright.
  • If Federer wins the final, regardless of his opponent:
Aaron S and Eric G finish tied for first. The tie-break cannot separate them, and they share the title.
  • If Federer loses the final, regardless of his opponent:
Aaron S, Eric G and Jasper vdZ finish tied for first. The tie-break cannot separate Aaron and Eric, and they share the title.

Good luck to all!!

Women's draw

With Sharapova and Clijsters winning their quarterfinals as expected, Steve Antoniadis and Plib remain in front. The group one point behind lost a member when Anna Lickley lost a point with Hingis.

As we head to the semis, we are now ready to consider who now has a chance to win!

Women's draw championship scenarios

It's down to our two co-leaders, whose picks in the semis and final are quite different. Steve A has Sharapova defeating Williams in the final, while Plib has Clijsters over Vaidisova. Chris W still has a chance to get into a tie-break, but he cannot win it.

  • If Sharapova wins the tournament, regardless of her final opponent, or if Williams defeats Sharapova in the final:
    Steve A wins outright.
  • If Vaidisova defeats Sharapova in the final:
Steve A and Plib finish tied for first. Steve wins the tie-break.
  • If Clijsters defeats Vaidisova meet in the final, regardless of the outcome:
    Plib wins outright.
  • If Clijsters defeats Williams in the final:
Plib and Chris W finish tied for first. Plib wins the tie-break.
  • If Williams defeats Clijsters in the final:
Plib, Chris W and Steve A finish tied for first. Steve A wins the tie-break.

Good luck and may the best man win!!
